Recently, the Shenzhen session of the 2026 Jiaxing High-tech Zone "Airport Harbor Xiushui Innovation Green Valley" Entrepreneurship Competition concluded successfully, and Corevo Technology's project "Rexolite Import Substitution: R&D and Industrialization of Low-Dielectric-Loss Cross-Linked Polystyrene Materials" advanced to the finals.

The competition was jointly hosted by the Jiaxing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Talent Office, and other organizations, focusing on tracks such as new materials, next-generation information technology, and intelligent manufacturing. Shortlisted projects may be included in the "Xingyao Nanhu" Leading Talent Program, enjoying a policy package including up to 5 million yuan in project funding, 10 million yuan in R&D subsidies, and three years of rent subsidies.

Breaking the Monopoly: The World's Second Company to Achieve Large-Scale Production

The XCPS® (cross-linked polystyrene) material that Corevo Technology brought to this competition benchmarks against the American Rexolite®1422. This material was previously supplied exclusively by an American company, with procurement cycles often exceeding three months, making it a "bottleneck" item for domestic microwave RF, aerospace radome components, and medical ultrasound acoustic assemblies. Corevo Technology has adopted a fully domestic thermosetting process, becoming the second company globally—aside from the original American manufacturer—to achieve large-scale production of this type of material. Its dielectric constant remains stable in the 2.5 range, and its dielectric loss is as low as 0.0005 (1MHz–500GHz), with overall performance benchmarking or partially surpassing overseas standards, while delivery cycles and costs have been simultaneously reduced.

The product line covers multiple series including sheets, rods, rings, and films. The applications are developed at two levels: the upper level focuses on height—military aerospace radomes and insulating rings for controlled nuclear fusion devices, which demand extremely high dielectric stability and radiation resistance; the lower level expands breadth—dielectric components for 5.5G/6G base stations, radome components for vehicle-mounted millimeter-wave radar, and acoustic lenses for medical ultrasound probes, entering a volume growth phase alongside the iteration of high-frequency communication technologies. The company has passed ISO 9001/14001/45001 certification and has entered the verification supply chains of multiple leading communication equipment manufacturers and ultrasound companies.

Domestic Substitution Is Not Just a Slogan—It's About Grinding Through Every Step

Project lead Kong Jingjing is the founder of the company, having深耕 the polymer materials industry for several years and founding Corevo Technology in 2021. The core of her team's research has always revolved around two things: formulation and process. Formulation determines the material's dielectric constant and loss baseline, while process determines whether it can be stably reproduced—cross-linking degree control, purification precision, and casting consistency; every parameter directly affects the final product's performance.

"Many people think that once the formulation is tuned correctly, everything is done. But the real difficulty lies ahead—with the same formulation, if the process window shifts even slightly, the material that comes out is a completely different product." In her view, the domestic substitution of XCPS® does not end with "making it work," but rather requires benchmarking or even surpassing overseas standards on every single batch.

From Laboratory to Production Line: What's the Next Step?

Making it to the finals is a milestone for Corevo, not the finish line. The domestic substitution of XCPS® cross-linked polystyrene is not something achieved overnight—from validating the laboratory formulation, to stabilizing the process window, to delivering batch after batch without fluctuation, every step takes time.

Corevo is currently delivering stably on a batch-by-batch basis, and its next focus is clear: to further solidify process consistency so that every batch of material can stably benchmark against overseas standards. As for capacity expansion and regional layout, the company will proceed step by step based on downstream demand rhythms—no rushing ahead, no empty talk.

The market space for XCPS® cross-linked polystyrene lies in the sustained growth of high-frequency communications and fusion energy. What Corevo Technology needs to do is turn "we can do it" into "we do it consistently and reliably."

From "bottleneck" to "independent and controllable," every step of XCPS® reflects one conviction: the domestic substitution of high-end foundational materials is not something that can be turned around by a single formulation or a single production line, but rather by a team that grinds through the process, stabilizes every batch, and delivers on its promises. Corevo Technology's advancement to the finals of the Jiaxing Entrepreneurship Competition is yet another external confirmation of this path—do what is difficult and right, and time will give the answer.
